The EU will invest EUR 15.5 million in ESF+ funding in Luxembourg to promote social inclusion, education and employment in Luxembourg. This will help jobseekers and people who are currently not integrated in the labour market through activities including bespoke training opportunities. The funds will also support the social economy, through measures such as financing advice services for start-ups in the social economy, whilst a significant share of the funds will go towards developing digital skills and jobs.  

The ESF+ in Luxembourg will also focus on helping young people through improving and modernising their education and training, supporting careers guidance, fighting early school leaving and boosting the integration of young refugees and migrants into the school system. Furthermore, the ESF+ in Luxembourg is dedicated to fighting child poverty and contributing to the implementation of the European Child Guarantee. 

The ESF+  will support disadvantaged groups in Luxembourg, in particular people with a migrant background. Assistance includes, for instance, training and partnerships with employers for a sustainable integration of people in the job market, and supervision and support services for young people. The country will also support people in need of food and basic necessities. 

Investments by the ESF+  will help enable Luxembourg to achieve its 2030 social targets under the European Pillar of Social Rights  by raising the employment rate to 77.6%, adult participation in education and training every year to 62.5% and by reducing the number of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion by nearly 4 000.   

The ESF+ in Luxembourg is implemented through one national programme, comprising also funding from the Just Transition Fund (JTF).
