The EU will invest EUR 2.35 billion in ESF+ funds in Slovakia to promote sustainable employment and a more inclusive, digital-friendly labour market for all. The ESF+ in Slovakia will provide opportunities for workers to up and re-skill, allowing them to navigate the changing needs of today’s labour market. ESF+ investments will also focus on active support for young people and children under the Youth Guarantee and the European Child Guarantee.
The ESF+ in Slovakia will support the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights, Slovakia will use ESF+ funding to improve the living conditions of marginalised Roma communities and contribute to inclusive education and social services across the country.
ESF+ investments will support Slovakia’s commitment to achieving the EU’s 2030 social targets for raising Slovakia’s employment rate to 76.5%, adult participation in education and training to 50% and reducing the number of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion by nearly 70 000.
Slovakia is implementing the ESF+ through a single national programme, which also includes funding from the Cohesion Fund, the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Just Transition Fund (JTF).
