If you’ve ever felt nostalgic for school dinners, but yearn for something more appetizing than turkey twizzlers, Les Petites Cantines could be for you. Billed as a “neighbourhood canteen”, Les Petites Cantines forge links within the local community by the quintessentially French means of shared mealtimes.
Everyone is invited: local residents; those who work in the area; young and old alike, gather together to prepare, serve, and clear away the meal. Each person can cut the bread, serve their neighbour, make a coffee… or even do the washing up. The cost? Each participant pays what they can, so nobody is
priced out.
