- The Institute for Labour Market Development (ILMD) is a non-governmental organization based in Zagreb, Croatia, founded in 2008. ILMD is one of the few organizations in Croatia and the region that improves the labour market by introducing innovative models of interventions aimed at: (1) vulnerable groups in the labour market, (2) employers and (3) stakeholders in the labour market (public bodies, educational institutions, NGOs and others). Interventions towards vulnerable groups (1) include career counseling services, job clubs, social mentoring, soft and professional competence development in cooperation with local stakeholders. Interventions towards employers (2) include raising awareness on the importance and education on how to include vulnerable groups in their organizations, diversity management (DEI), with a special focus on the inclusion of people with disabilities. Interventions towards stakeholders in the labour market (3) include the development of their capacity to provide support services to individuals for career development and inclusion in the labour market, the introduction of new working models (e.g. social mentoring), the implementation of needs analyses and impact evaluations (projects and programmes). In this regard, we have experience working with stakeholders in the fields of employment, education and social welfare. These interventions have been implemented through over 50 grant projects and services financed by the ESF, the World Bank, UNDP and other public sources. Our team consists of experienced project managers, research experts, career advisors and trainers, as well as a network of external experts in the wider region.
