P.A.R.I Jeunes

Around one million young people in France are currently out of employment, education or training (NEETs). Public employment services can be a key support to getting young people into employment. However, the support provided can often be short-term and not tailored to the young person. PARI Jeunes, a programme for the remobilisation and inclusion of young people in France, provides NEETs aged 18 to 25 with support and guidance in finding and securing employment. Each young person’s training programme lasted for four months and was intentionally designed with a specialist trainer who provided expert guidance they could not receive elsewhere. The overall goal was for every young person to find an internship, qualification, employment opportunity or plan for professional integration upon finishing the programme. The PARI Jeunes programme ran for 18 months between 2015 and 2017, providing support to 601 young people, with 403 progressing onto further employment, an internship, a work immersion course or a voluntary position. The programme was co-financed by the ESF under the YEI during its initial implementation and has since identified a wider need, therefore expanding their recruitment to include all ages.
