For staff in organisations that support vulnerable people, the right kind of training is vital. Support workers often have to help people with multiple complex needs, so it is important their knowledge is up to date.
In Malta, the Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity (MFCS) has been working with partners nationally and abroad to provide support workers with specialist training covering issues that include finances, literacy, disability awareness and social security.
The project, called Knowledge, Training, Communications and Support Measures in Support of Vulnerable Groups, also works with families and their support workers at home to identify needs and deliver appropriate interventions.
