Gdańsk University of Technology is one of the 8 Polish universities classified in the prestigious Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), also known as the Shanghai Ranking. Gdańsk Tech has also CESAER Certificate, which confirms quality of scientific excellence in engineering education and research and close cooperation with industry.

The European Commission, in 2015, has granted Gdańsk Tech the right to use the HR Excellence in Research logo, as a symbol of quality assuring the highest standards in research and employment.

- Future employees: There are approximately 14,000 students currently studying at Gdańsk Tech. They can pursue their passions at eight faculties, with a selection of 35 fields of study available for first and second-cycle studies.

- We cooperate worldwide by: membership in international organizations, international projects, international agreements, study programs in English, incoming and outgoing students and staff.

In the last decade, Gdańsk Tech acquired more than 250 patents and more than 1,000 R&D projects with national and international funds. Gdańsk Tech implemented also 23 projects from the EU FP6 and 22 projects from the EU FP7. By Janury 2023, Gdańsk Tech has acquired 25 projects from the EU Framework Program HORIZON 2020 and 12 projects from the Horizon Europe.

- Cooperation under R&D centres established in cooperation with the social and economic environment: Center for Offshore Wind Energy, Center for Hydrogen Technologies, Center for Nuclear Power.

- International collaboration: One of the priorities of Gdańsk Tech is the collaboration in international teams resulting in commercialization of research results conducted at the University. Our research results are reflected in authentic solutions and can change reality. Technology Transfer Office and Excento, a special purpose vehicle, operate for the benefit of cooperation between science and business.

- Engagement in the case: We focus on sustainable development. One of the core values cherished by Gdańsk University of Technology is caring for the conditions and quality of life of the present and future generations. The University actively participates in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the European Green Deal of the European Commission. Gdańsk University of Technology is a signatory of the Declaration of Social Responsibility and an active party in activities aimed at shaping social attitudes conducive to wide implementation of the declaration’s postulates. The University has undertaken many crucial steps in order to engage the employees in environmental activities. One of such step involved establishing EkoTech Center which deals with shaping a harmonious, sustainable space for human life in the face of current environmental challenges, climate change as well as social and demographic transformations. Additionally, Gdańsk Tech is currently building the Eco-innovation Center, which will be one of the most important scientific units in Poland dealing with the development of pro-ecological solutions and environmental technologies. The activities of the center will be focused on several important areas, such as the environment, energy, construction, mobility, revitalization, education of future staff focused on creating innovative ecological solutions and industry. Engagement and contribution to sustainable development for a better future for the planet is the responsibility of the entire academic community.
