Problem addressed

Children, young people and their families that are not thriving and are not part of the many social

communities, like public institutions or civil society. People are often lonely, isolated or abusive / difficult in

their behavior. PLAY works with and developes the established systems to strengthen their abillity to

integrate people, through cooperation, new knowledge and rethinking the institutional setup around the

kids.

Innovative solution

PLAY operates in the families local setting and operate between the many public sector institutions. It is a

organic way of working that starts at home or other places with activity based pedagogy that motivates, and

gives the participants knowledge about themselves, the social norms and tries to lift them out of their

solitude.

Key results and benefits

The key results on a individual level is a more thriving life for the kids and participation in society, and a more

functional familiy with better quality of life. On the systemic level the aim is to develop the sociel sector and

its proffesionals so the institutions are better able to handle the many different problems and needs that we

expirience the kids and their families have.

Potential for mainstreaming

Its a simple aproach that takes the social work for kids into their homes and local enviroment with the aim to

move them back into the social institutions. The original project was replicated in 24 Danish municipalities and therefore high potential for replication.
