Developing digital skills to improve healthcare

Eklund, 2019
Digital technologies have revolutionised the health and social care industry over recent years, so it's vital that health workers understand how to use and make the most of them.

That's why the Kajaani University of Applied Sciences (KAMK) in Finland has developed a project called DIGIOS (Developing digital know-how in social and health care education and services in Kainuu) to help teachers, managers and staff who work in the industry to develop their digital health skills.

As well as creating a new educational pathway from vocational training to higher education which focuses on eHealth and digital technology, DIGIOS has also developed a new care pathway for long term ill patients which integrates telemedicine across the social and health care services, and rates efficiency with a Balance Score Card.
