Café Joy of Life is a meeting place for people aged 60 and over according to the motto "Advice - Encounter - Participation". Everyone is invited to get involved in the project - regardless of origin, nationality or language. Visitors receive help and support during the transition from employment to retirement. In the area of education, there are language courses, workshops on dealing with the internet and digitization as well as physical and mental health. In addition, the café gradually offers numerous leisure activities - from cooking, crafts, arts and crafts, repair cafés to trips and excursions to community gardens, cultural events and parties for people 60+.
The counseling services range from general social and migration counseling to financial and debt counseling, from job coaching and job application workshops to advice on applications and correspondence. The aim is to strengthen financial security in old age, avoid indebtedness and open up new perspectives for one's own income situation, even after retirement. Another innoavtive aspect is that the employees on site are able to assist visitors in Arabic, Aramaic, Bulgarian, German, English, Farsi, Kurdish, Russian, Somali, Tigrinya and Turkish. Other languages can be offered if required.
