The Chair of the Environment, dependent on the General Foundation of the University of Alcalá, was founded in 1995. Since then, it has been carrying out an intense activity focused on carrying out scientific and technical studies on various environmental issues. Their methodologies, based on the most modern analysis techniques, aim to offer a scientific and independent vision of the different environmental problems. Also specialized training, the promotion of sustainable rural development and environmental dissemination are among the objectives of the Chair of the Environment.

In the more than 20 years that it has been in operation, it has worked and works with numerous companies and entities, developing studies and projects both on aspects of the industrial environment and the natural environment. It is an entity with a deep research vocation, having among its staff and collaborators, experts in numerous fields related to the environment.
