Problem addressed
Our „New Chances at Labour Market” programme is aimed at disadvantaged women, including those facing housing difficulties and refugees. The programme aims to make up for what our clients' families could not provide when they were younger, when acquiring professional qualifications and important skills was the main task of people, or what they needed in sudden life situations to become self-sufficient and integrate into society as easily as possible.
The target group faces prejudice in society, therefore it is even more difficult for them to find a job and keep it.
Innovative solution
The programme covers all the costs of vocational training and skills acquisition, including additional examinations and medical examinations. Perhaps more importantly, we provide childcare and mentoring by social workers so that neither time nor psycho-mental problems are an obstacle to completing the training.
The programme also includes sensitising employers and generally employees, to the disadvantaged target group, as well as a tolerance campaign in social media, which is being promoted by the Red Cross in several countries throughout society and even internationally. (in Autumn 20249)
Key results and benefits
We've implemented a pilot project and the current one is coming to its end. More than 100 certifications (including driving licenses, vocational trainings, language, communication and enterpreneur skill development) has been achieved. There was about 15% attrition rate that can be considered a great success.
It is very difficult to keep track on the participants, but those who are still habitants in our family shelters, more than 70% works.
