Funding from the ESF has allowed Malta’s Public Employment Service (PES) to develop training and different support measures to help people with vulnerabilities to find work and retain it
The project, called VASTE, has been developed by Jobsplus with its partner the Lino Spiteri Foundation. VASTE gives former inmates, former substance abusers, people with disabilities and those with other types of social challenges the opportunity to receive a full assessment of their skills and employability. This is followed up by a personal training plan, tailored to each person’s abilities, and the chance of supported work experience.
The many training options offered by VASTE include job-specific Pre-Employment Training, and Sheltered Employment Training: hands-on training in basic employment skills for people with intellectual disabilities.
