After being out of work for a long time, finding a job becomes more difficult. Repeated rejections, an aging skill set and a lack of practice with applications and interviews can all become very demotivating.
In Malta, the Work Programme Initiative (or WPI), from the Maltese government's Jobsplus service, is helping people who have been unemployed for at least 12 months to improve their employability and find work.
Jacqueline, who's in her fifties, joined the WPI in 2016 after being out of work for about four years. Even though she had several certificates she was still being rejected by employers. She needed support to find full time employment and wanted guidance on how to correctly apply for jobs and attend interviews.
