Among those receiving their professional diplomas at Luxembourg's Building Sector Training Institute this year were nearly a hundred graduates from "FIT4 Green & Build Jobs", a project run by employment development agency ADEM and funded by the ESF.

FIT4 Green & Build Jobs targeted jobseekers registered with the ADEM and offered training in a range of building trades, including Green Tech installation, tower crane operation, welding, carpentry and restoration.

Hundreds of people took part in the project, which was open to anyone over 16, with or without building experience. All were given an orientation and skills evaluation, and support from a translator if necessary, before starting training in their chosen field.

Luca Panichi trained as a scaffolder with the project. He said, “The training was well organised and provided me with the basics of scaffolding and the job of scaffolder.
