Programme highlights success stories in covid recovery

The world has been irrevocably changed by the coronavirus pandemic, and Europe is no exception. Our health systems, economies and way of life have suffered, requiring dramatic action to ensure our society recovers.

The EU responded as soon as the pandemic struck,  doing whatever it took to assist those in need – both within and beyond our borders – and to support scientific research and innovation to protect us against the virus in the future. With a €750 billion recovery package, NextGenerationEU will help European citizens, Member States and partner countries emerge from the crisis stronger and more resilient for a greener, more sustainable and more digital future.

However, this recovery could not happen without the courage and ingenuity of EU citizens. The European Commission has therefore started a programme to showcase  stories of individuals and groups that are fundamental to ensuring Europe meets the demands of a post-covid world.

From Italian farmers to Croatian teachers to German small business owners, with a little help from EU funding they have been able to weather the storm and can now give back to their communities  – building a stronger, brighter future for the EU.
