On 11 October 2022 at 17:30 - 18:30 (CET), the European Commission will host ‘ALMA: a boost for all young people’s inclusion’, an extraordinary information session that aims to help Member States and their partners to implement the ALMA initiative.
The session will gather a panel of experts who will share their hands-on experience in the mobility of disadvantaged young people. There will be examples of stories and good practices from EU-funded projects, including testimonies from young people who have participated in a work-related experience in another Member State. The focus will be on what helps disadvantaged young people build their self-esteem, opening up their minds to new experiences and forging their own identity while discovering different cultures and, of course, providing them with the skills they need to get a job and build their future with confidence.
The ‘Aim, Learn, Master, and Achieve’ (ALMA) initiative seeks to build the confidence, experience, and integration prospects of young people who have had early difficulties – such as family issues, a disability or a migrant background – through supporting mobility across the EU. ALMA is implemented in Member States through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
Part of the EU Week of Regions and Cities, the session is specifically aimed at Managing Authorities and potential operating partners, including Public Employment Services (PES), voluntary and non-profit organisations; local authorities, schools, municipalities and vocational education, training (VET) providers and other associations and organisations linked to labour-market integration.
More information about creating an account and attending can be found on the info session’s event page.
