Hungary’s ‘Sure Start’ centres offer vital support to vulnerable pre-school-aged children across the country. Specialised centres offer a wide range of services for children aged 0-3 – and their parents – in a safe and friendly environment.
Activities include painting, cooking, sensory and outdoor games. There is also a quiet space to read books. Staff provide families with guidance on communication and eating difficulties. Families receive advice from nurses, paediatricians, special-needs educators and social workers, as well as through regular support group sessions.
