An ESF-funded project will give young persons living in Paris a boost in their search for employment.
Les Chantiers Educatifs’ focuses on remobilizing marginalised individuals from 16-25 years of age. The project allows short-term experience across numerous fields – giving individuals the chance to improve their knowledge while developing key interpersonal skills.
‘Les Chantiers Educatifs’ offers lasting benefits: through substantive work, participants can regain confidence in their chosen field. The project also offers individuals opportunities to build capacity to meet work requirements, continue training, meet administrative obligations and improve their mental and physical health via optional medical exams. By expanding dialogue between residents, organisations and young people participating in the project, the work also builds community cohesion and improves the overall living environment.
Via €730 000 of dedicated ESF funding, 88 educational projects have been implemented by Paris Habitat – including 65 projects co-financed through €730 000 from the European Social Fund. More than 350 young people have benefitted from ‘Les Chantiers Educatifs’ to date.
