ESF for education: Helping refugees build job skills

European Union
European Union

The European Social Fund (ESF) is aiming to help Denmark's socially disadvantaged refugees enter the labour market.

Nearly €1.8million has been allocated for the ‘Business Training – Social Inclusion of Refugees’ project, which will assist asylum-seeking individuals with finding placements – as well as help companies with mentoring and support services.

The project focuses on language and self-marketing skills – such as building a CV and what to expect at job interviews.  It has been extremely successful, having assisted over 300 refugees to build their experience with Danish businesses.

Services such as these are vital to helping individuals who have often experienced extremely traumatic situations to rebuild their lives, integrate and take an active role in the European project.
