We may not be experts in everything, but we have a genuine passion for creating meaningful experiences and supporting each individually on their unique journey. We believe that everyone deserves a place where they can develop and feel valued. Therefore, every project at Skäggbyrån is more than just a work task; it's an opportunity to make a real difference within yourself. Through our services and creative expressions, we strive to not only meet the needs of those we work with, but also create an atmosphere of community and inclusion which is a value.
Skäggbyråns main goal is to integrate people into society and working life through work and participation - people who, for various reasons who finds it difficult to get or keep a job. Skäggbyrån also offers work training and rehabilitation so that those who participate in the activity can move on to employment on the regular labor market. Skäggbyrån thus fulfills an important function for many long-term unemployed as well as for society at large.
Long-term unemployment was high even before the pandemic. Despite the boom and strong demand for labor, roughly 150,000 people in Sweden were long-term unemployed. During the pandemic, long-term unemployment has increased sharply. At the end of November 2023 more than 181,000 people were long-term unemployed. This is almost half of the total number registered at the Employment Service. At the same time as long-term unemployment is at a record high, and the need for targeted measures towards this group is greater than in a long time.
Our work has been shown to lead to increased self-esteem and confidence and a belief in the future self. Through participation and giving people the opportunity to grow and bloom, from the seed we planted. Through personal planning and giving the oppertunity for an invidual developement, we contribute to society by helping the invidual person to realise who and what they can become.
We believe that every individual deserves meaningful employment and strive to create an inclusive work environment where every participant feels valued and involved. For us, social and economic sustainability is as important as ecological sustainability.
