Euronews: how ESF and Europe's recovery fund help to transform Spain's economy

The latest episode of the Euronews Real Economy magazine is devoted to Europe’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).  The episode focuses on the social aspects of the recovery plan in Spain - worth EUR 69,5 billion - which represents one of the biggest public investment plans in the country’s history.

​The episode features an interview with Nadia Calviño, Spain's Minister of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, and also includes interviews on the ground in Spain showcasing an ESF-funded vocational training project in Tenerife. 

Jorge Rivero Antuña, Director of the CIFP César Manrique vocational school, relates that ESF funding covers 80% of teachers' salaries, as well as training courses for unemployed and underemployed workers.

Spain is the first member state to have requested and obtained the Commission's green light for an RRF disbursement.
