The European Social Fund (ESF) is supporting the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region in Poland during a health crisis caused by the Coronavirus outbreak.

ESF has contributed €10.2M to focus on the prevention of the COVID-19 infection by purchasing tests and personal protective equipment for healthcare professionals, as well as the provision of respite care for these employees.

The project covers two solutions for healthcare professionals in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship and will be implemented with the help of medical entities, i.e. hospitals, and ambulances etc.

The first solution covers the purchase of necessary medical materials, disinfection devices and agents as well as personal protective equipment for healthcare professionals.

The second solution ensures the creation of respite care for medical personnel. Two respite centres for medical staff are being created. These centres will be built within the existing infrastructure where beds, sanitary facilities, a kitchen and rest facilities will be available. This confined space will be for medical professionals to use and stay during the quarantine period or while they await the result from the testing sample.
