Jugend am Werk Steiermark GmbH is among the leading providers of social services in the Province of Styria. Located throughout all Styrian districts and the capital city of Graz, our staff in over 100 facilities seek to support people close to their homes and to assist them with relevant offers and services in difficult phases of their lives.
Jugend am Werk is diversity. Every day, well-trained employees support children, young people, and adults in all the ups and downs of life. They are the key to providing our social mission in a professional and, always, human way. Every person is unique and has different needs. Therefore, support must be individual and flexible. If our existing services do not offer the right solutions, we find new, unconventional ways. We develop new solutions together with the people by taking actions according to their dreams, wishes and needs, providing available resources, and meeting them at eye level: This attitude is reflected in the work and actions of Jugend am Werk.
As a non-profit enterprise, we do not pursue profit-making. We measure our success in terms of how satisfied our customers are and to what extent their everyday life can be improved regarding equal opportunities.
In 2023 our nearly 1.300 employees supported over 17.000 customers: Children, young people and families with individual and tailored support and counselling through all the ups and downs of a child’s, a young person’s and family’s life; a wide range of education/training and qualification measures for people of all ages; person-centred support to promote autonomy and participation in all areas of life; care and support in social plights that are not in the public focus.
Through our high-quality network of both training, work, and occupation as well as care, leisure and living services and facilities, we can fulfil our social mission in the inclusion of people with and without disabilities and in the areas of youth welfare, training, and employment for young people. The Jugend am Werk Steiermark GmbH is certificated to the European ISO 9001:2015 standard. The business areas Training/Work/Employment have been awarded with Ö-Cert, the Austrian Quality frame for adult education.
We offer an long-standing expertise in working with various target groups and by offering person-centred support. Additionally, Jugend am Werk has been a popular coordinator and partner in numerous European projects. Coordinating and collaborating in EU-funded projects enhances our understanding of transnational cooperation. That way, we manage to develop methods and tools, to exchange experiences and create innovation.
