Isola is an Impact & Community Hub located in the heart of the Mediterranean, in Catania, within the historic Biscari Palace, a UNESCO heritage site. Isola aims to strengthen relationships at the European level with other social enterprises that care about impact and the economic, social, and cultural development of the area, enhancing the territory and the potential of young people. Isola develops social entrepreneurship projects for Sicilian youth, as well as future orientation in high schools, networking opportunities, and support for cultural and creative enterprises. Isola Catania is a social enterprise, a third-sector organisation configuring itself as an Impact and Community Hub, a place of innovation with an international atmosphere. The organisation's coworking and offices animate the spaces of a historical building of excellence, Palazzo Biscari, a Unesco heritage site in the historical centre of Catania, a few steps from the cathedral and facing the sea.
In response to the dramatic rankings that see Catania in the lead for school dropout rates, educational poverty, unemployment, and low participation in cultural and political life by citizens, Isola works to offer projects of innovation, entrepreneurship, socio-environmental sustainability, and culture, all with a single objective: to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in Sicily. Generating opportunities for young people by creating a virtuous community of businesses, organisations, people and extraordinary places, Isola works to support the South in the production of value and talent, i.e. young people with rediscovered self-determination and a sense of belonging, who are free to choose where to live and who careers to pursue.
The creation of a synergic and quality network between local and non-local stakeholders and of different natures attracts generative realities, which enrich the territory with investments, professional outlets and
cultural offerings.- Looking for
