a. Are you currently participating in an ALMA call funded by ESF+ or other funds?
Not yet. Asociación Trabajo y Formación – TRAFO is currently preparing to participate in future ALMA mobility projects as a receiving organisation in Spain, particularly on the island of Tenerife. The organisation has been established specifically with a strong focus on training, social inclusion and European mobility. Its team brings extensive experience from previous ESF-funded transnational mobility and employment projects, including IdA and ALMA.
b. Target group(s) you would be able to host
TRAFO is able to host young people facing different barriers to employment and social inclusion, including NEETs, early school leavers, low-skilled young people, economically inactive young people, young people with little or no work experience, young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, young migrants and third-country nationals with a legal stay/work permit, as well as participants with disabilities or individual support needs.
Participants and placements would be matched individually according to their skills, interests, professional objectives and support needs.
c. Framework conditions for hosting during work-related experience
Hosting activities are planned on the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. TRAFO can organise work-related learning experiences in different sectors, with a particular focus on ecological agriculture, environmental and biodiversity activities, tourism and hospitality, crafts, maintenance, community-oriented activities and other suitable local enterprises and organisations.
Accommodation can be organised according to the size and needs of the group. Due to the regional characteristics of Tenerife, transport and accessibility of workplaces are considered when selecting placements. Individual arrangements for participants with disabilities or other special support needs can be discussed and organised in advance.
d. Possible activities and support services offered
TRAFO can provide or coordinate the complete local hosting phase, including arrival and orientation, accommodation, local transport arrangements, matching participants with suitable work-related learning placements, contact with employers, mentoring, socio-pedagogical support, intercultural support, assistance with everyday organisational matters and coordination with the sending organisation.
Depending on the project, activities related to ecological agriculture, environmental education, biodiversity, community work and sustainability can also be integrated into the mobility experience.
e. Availability for hosting of groups
Available for hosting groups from 2027 onwards, subject to prior coordination of group size, duration, participant profiles and individual support needs.
f. Restrictions / additional comments
Group size, duration and timing should be agreed sufficiently in advance. Particular attention is given to the individual needs and profiles of participants in order to ensure suitable placements, accommodation and support. Due to the geographical characteristics of Tenerife, mobility and transport requirements should be considered during project planning.
TRAFO welcomes early coordination with sending organisations in order to develop mobility programmes tailored to the respective target group.
g. Contacts with national, regional or local partners
TRAFO is developing and expanding a local and regional network on Tenerife involving enterprises, agricultural businesses, hospitality and tourism providers, NGOs, training and social organisations, municipalities and other organisations that can provide work-related learning opportunities or support participants during their mobility period.
The organisation also draws on the long-standing professional networks of its team in Spain and Germany and on cooperation developed through previous European mobility and social inclusion projects.
h. Other relevant projects / experience
Although TRAFO is a newly established organisation, its management and project team bring more than 30 years of experience in employment, vocational integration, social inclusion and transnational mobility projects. This includes experience with ESF-funded programmes and transnational mobility initiatives such as the German IdA programme (“Integration durch Austausch”) and ALMA-related cooperation.
Members of the team have been involved in the development, coordination and implementation of transnational projects between Germany, Spain and other European countries, including the organisation of work-related learning experiences, participant support, accommodation, mentoring and cooperation with employers and social organisations.
TRAFO intends to build on this experience as a receiving organisation in Tenerife and to develop sustainable partnerships with European ALMA sending organisations.
