Problem addressed

Many young people in rural communities feel excluded from decision-making and lack opportunities to influence the present and future of their communities. This contributes to disengagement, outmigration and a loss of valuable perspectives in local development.

Innovative solution

The project brings young people and decision-makers together to co-create solutions to local challenges. Unlike traditional consultation processes, youth-generated ideas are developed into concrete actions and embedded into municipal structures for lasting impact.

Key results and benefits

The project aims to engage hundreds of young people in shaping their community, strengthen trust between youth and local authorities, and ensure that at least two youth-generated solutions are implemented. Youth impact Säffle also educate decision-makers and creates more inclusive and effective local decision-making processes.

Potential for mainstreaming

The methodology is transferable to municipalities and organisations across Europe. By combining youth participation, co-creation and implementation, the model can be adapted to many different local contexts.
