Technical support on the deinstitutionalisation process

The project developed innovative tools and methodologies following up-to-date research and practices in the field of social inclusion. It focused both on the transformation of institutionalised care into community-based models and initiatives preventing institutionalisation.
The innovative tools and methodologies developed include needs-assessment protocols, guidelines on standard procedures in community-based settings, a roadmap for the implementation of deinstitutionalisation, a roadmap on how to deinstitutionalise a setting, a communication strategy and a framework for evaluating the implementation of deinstitutionalisation. Τhese tools can play an important role in the process of closing down existing institutionsand transforming the way social care is provided. In addition, there was a strong emphasis on training, with the development of an innovative training toolkit.
