Problem addressed
Small producers face major challenges in managing mandatory records related to production, processing, packaging, and sales. Traditional tools are inefficient and error-prone, making compliance and business optimisation difficult.
Innovative solution
Felirom.hu is a cloud-based web application designed by and for small-scale producers. It simplifies daily tasks through modular data entry, improves transparency and traceability, and enables better production planning. Continuous user testing ensured the system aligns with real needs.
The innovation of Felirom.hu goes significantly beyond technological solutions available on the commercial market. Its uniqueness primarily lies in the participatory action research methodology employed in its creation. Unlike standard commercial apps—which are typically designed for larger-scale agricultural producers, require high-level digital literacy, and involve considerable expenses—our application was co-designed directly with small-scale producers through intensive, bottom-up engagement processes within an EIP-AGRI operational group.
This participatory approach allowed us to specifically tailor the application to the real-world needs, capacities, and technological comfort level of these small producers. Thus, Felirom.hu uniquely addresses their everyday operational challenges, such as streamlined data collection, simplified administrative tasks, and easier compliance with mandatory requirements, all without imposing high financial or technological barriers.
