En Boîte Le Plat - let's change our habits, from disposable to reuse take-out containers

A restaurateur serves a customer in a reusable and returnable glass box.
En Boîte Le Plat is a french project, born in Toulouse in 2019, which aims to fight against disposable packaging and change habits. In a region, we network restaurants and mobilize them to use returnable glass boxes rather than disposable packaging, when customers order take-away food. The glass boxes are deposited to ensure their return within the network after use. All restaurants have the same glass boxes, customers can therefore return the box to any restaurant to collect their deposit.

After 5 years of local testing and developments, the projet is deployed in 6 french cities, thanks to the work of 6 different non-profit organisations which are gathered into En Boîte Le Plat France association. This national network allow us to gather knowledge and tools, and to carry out a common advocacy strategy, in order to change the regulatory framework of our topic.

The next step consists of being able to train new non-profit organisations to enlarge our alternative throughout France territory, and thus change habits of french people regarding take-away food packaging !
